What is Non-Surgical Blepharoplasty?
Non-surgical blepharoplasty is a treatment designed to improve the appearance of loose, crepey or hooded eyelid skin without surgical skin removal.
At DrBK, we use PlasmaDAS technology with a Plasma Pen to deliver controlled energy to the surface of the skin. This creates a precise treatment response that encourages contraction and stimulates the skin’s natural remodelling process.
The result is a tighter, smoother and more refreshed-looking eye area.
What Can PlasmaDAS Non-Surgical Blepharoplasty Treat?
Hooded Eyes
Improve the appearance of mild to moderate upper-eyelid skin laxity that can contribute to a hooded appearance.
Loose Eyelid Skin
Target age-related loss of elasticity and skin laxity around the upper eyelids.
Crepey Skin
Improve the appearance of fine lines and crepey, textured eyelid skin.
Tired-Looking Eyes
Refresh the appearance of the eye area for a more rejuvenated look.
PlasmaDAS is most appropriate for selected patients with mild to moderate skin laxity. Your suitability will be assessed during a clinical consultation.
When Surgical Blepharoplasty May Be More Appropriate
PlasmaDAS isn’t a replacement for surgical blepharoplasty in every patient.
If you have significant excess skin, pronounced fat prolapse, eyelid ptosis or functional concerns, surgical assessment may be more appropriate.
Our priority is to determine which treatment is right for your anatomy and your goals.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can PlasmaDAS treat hooded eyes?
PlasmaDAS may be suitable for patients whose hooded appearance is primarily caused by mild to moderate upper-eyelid skin laxity. However, hooding can have several causes, so a clinical assessment is essential.
Is PlasmaDAS suitable for everyone?
No. PlasmaDAS is most appropriate for selected patients with mild to moderate skin laxity. Patients with significant excess skin, eyelid ptosis or pronounced fat prolapse may require a different treatment approach.
Is PlasmaDAS an alternative to surgical blepharoplasty?
For some patients, PlasmaDAS can provide a non-surgical alternative for addressing selected areas of eyelid skin laxity. However, it cannot replicate the structural correction possible with surgery and is not suitable for all cases.
What Can I Expect After Treatment?
Non-surgical blepharoplasty is not a no-downtime treatment.
Following treatment, the skin will typically develop small treatment points that can form scabs or areas of dryness for approximately 5–7 days.
You should allow around 2 weeks of recovery time for the treated area to settle.
Your clinician will provide detailed aftercare instructions, including guidance on cleansing, skincare and sun exposure during the healing period.
Is Non-Surgical Blepharoplasty Painful?
A numbing cream is applied before treatment to improve comfort.
The level of sensitivity varies between patients and treatment areas. The upper eyelid can be slightly more painful or sensitive during treatment, due to the delicate nature of the area.
Your comfort will be monitored throughout the procedure.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
We typically recommend two treatments, approximately six months apart, depending on your individual degree of skin laxity and treatment response.
Your clinician will assess your progress and advise when a second treatment is appropriate.
Can I Have Non-Surgical Blepharoplasty with Botox?
Yes. Non-surgical blepharoplasty can be combined with toxin where clinically appropriate.
The treatments work differently and can be incorporated into a broader treatment plan to address different aspects of the upper facial area.
Your clinician will advise on the most appropriate combination and timing.
Non-Surgical Blepharoplasty vs Surgical Blepharoplasty
Non-surgical blepharoplasty uses controlled plasma energy to treat selected areas of superficial skin laxity without surgically removing skin.
Surgical blepharoplasty involves the surgical removal and/or repositioning of tissue and may be more appropriate where there is significant excess skin, fat prolapse or eyelid ptosis.
The right treatment depends on your individual anatomy and the degree of skin laxity present.
